The newest addition to electrocaïne’s Y-Series, which aims to showcase a more left-field side of electronic music with eclectic influences around the globe. Asia-based electronic music artist HADIID offers a two-track EP, Diniari / Senja that seeks to infuse club-ready music with slow-burn organic sounding synth progressions.
In the Malay language, Diniari and Senja mean Dawn and Dusk respectively reflecting how these tracks act like two sides of a coin. They are made up of the same core elements but seek to express opposite moods. Diniari kicks off the EP with a build-up of bright synths that builds up layer upon layer as the track progresses till a twisted robotic harmony is formed. Whereas, Senja, its darker and more aggressive companion, is based on the same synth layer but switches up rhythm as it goes along.
Ending the EP with a bang, Mauritian producer, Mutecell, takes the aggression up a notch with his more static and hypnotic take on Senja influenced by the dark warehouses of Berlin.
HADIID, an Asian born and bred DJ/Producer from the island of Borneo, has never been one to shy away from pushing genre boundaries. Showcasing his diverse array of sounds up his sleeves, HADIID pushes for the evolution of the electronic music scene in his hometown. Being part of the NWHR collective, educating the masses in music that is far from mainstream and providing artists also aiming to be outside of the norm is his agenda. This unorthodox mindset being the birthplace of this EP.
